Report Card Grades are Important

Being a parent is a complicated job requiring more talent and ability than any of us, normal everyday people, possess. It stands to reason, at least to me, that if there are tools that will make the job easier we should use them. One such tool is the "Report Card". Kids need to learn how to get results. The grades they receive on their report card, four times during the school year, are something they can have total control over. If they do everything they are supposed to, they are going to get "A's" on their report card. If they don't get "A's", it means they didn't do everything they were supposed to do. It is as simple as that.

Coming to this realization has made me a better parent. Now my job is more simple. I expect my son to get all A's on his report card, or at the very least, an A average. I expect his teachers and the school principal to do their very best to help my son and me achieve this goal. I expect my government, at all levels, to make sure that my local schools have the resources and people to make these goals a reality. I expect myself to put in whatever time and effort is necessary to keep my son on track with his homework and reading each and every day  Finally, at the end of the day when all  my work is done, I can devote the rest of my time to me.

I cannot imagine what I would would be doing if my child did not bring home a report card.
